There was flower power and oil crisis, moon landing and
the Berlin Wall, there were yuppies and perestroika, hard rock and free jazz, laughter and heartaches, bellyaching and breastfeeding, there was the first time of everything.
There was longing and travelling, self-consciousness and doubt, weddings and split ups, Mitterrand and Merkel, there were poisonous flowers in the garden and ants in the tent, hitchhiking and disco dancing, psoriasis and Barbie blond hair, Dostoevsky and Bukowski, fun seeking and loneliness, fleemarkets and Basel art fairs, friends and lovers, there was Nuremberg and Munich, Grenoble and Marseille, aids and secret passions, Knödel, chocolate and foie gras, there was teaching and searching, working and working harder, sunset spots and the sea.
Light and heavy, light and dark, light and color, there was painting in my life, at last…
